Some people have the other side of instant replay; HD playback serves as a referee for most sports referees such as baseball and basketball. With more TV coverage to capture more footage to cancel a specific game, people will enjoy the game more instead of arguing with each other. Now, with YouTube and other video websites, it's easier for fans to criticize the league or umpires, a shameful fact.

"Bad decisions don't ruin games, only bad plays" (Sharp 2009) by USA Today sportswriter Drew Sharp.

They say that in any sport, pointing your finger at another person who is not on the field helps. That the public insists umpires make better decisions is just their own judgment on the leagues. “Ask any coach and they will tell you: never accept the fault of an umpire” (Sharp 2009). Replay ruins many games and makes every sports team win or die (Sharp 2009). Sports technology is incorporated into so many different sports and every two years the Olympic Games is one of the biggest sporting events.

Advances in each of the sports taking place at the Olympics, such as the construction of the tennis racquet or in 2016, when golf makes its Olympic debut, must decide whether the USGA or R&A will determine the racquets. is allowed or what type of golf balls are used, each golf brand has over twenty different specifications for each ball or club, some legal and some not. This could be a reason for some athletes to outperform other competitors. The Olympic Committee conducts climate research to account for the technological advances made by the modern amateur player (Tenaska 2013).

When new athletes emerge with the most technologically advanced gear from the bottom up and they can't use it at the Olympics, for example, a new bike frame will be 25% lighter than the old one. How will the Olympic Committee decide on this? (Tenaska 2013) Sports have always looked for evidence of statistics and characteristics that the average person does not see. Putting athletes in front of a computer and showing their results on a computer screen instead of on a field changes many perspectives on a person.

(IT Sports Journal) IT's technology-to-sports pipeline determines the scrutiny and essential element of the resources required for the rise of technology. Computer technology has turned to change for any sport looking for a technological breakthrough. Without computers, the sports industry would have a hard time coming up with new ideas and devices to make the sport easier or harder. (IT Sports Journal) The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are taking on the tech side as computers embrace technology.

They don't take breaks on or off the practice site. The organization bought iPads to use in place of their standard PlayBook. You no longer have to lug around a folder of paper or DVD to practice or go home because the iPad has all the software. While the NFL still has restrictions on tablet use, these devices are changing the way professional teams train and communicate. General Manager Mark Dominik says: “It was a huge success for our players. They loved it, We're Going Green as technology advances for professional sports teams.

The Bucs and Ravens are the only teams with this technology in the NFL that have these capabilities with tablet computers. Bucs trainers say they believe that just giving them a bit of technology has helped their learning habits by learning plays and the overall motivation shown to them (Couwels 2011). The Australian race always has a nation of excellence around the world. Despite having a smaller population, Australians love being outdoors and can become great athletes and dominate their favorite sports.

Coaches coached Australian athletes in the second half of the 20th century, now athletes can be entered into a computer and analyzed to show how well they are performing. As technology advances, the trainer's job becomes easier and easier. Aside from getting the athlete back in the mental game, training is simply about analyzing the stats. Each study is designed to look at different aspects of the athlete and provide feedback on their performance. (James) Throughout the history of sports technology, this has been an issue for athletes.

Some historic events in the history of sports have made it much easier to judge and participate in the results of today's sports. Time (Boston Globe 2013). Electric Scoring was an automated refereeing system for fencing judges in 1936 and recognized the most precise touches in fractions of a second (Boston Globe 2013). A very interesting fact was that in 1957 a Michigan physics professor developed touchpads for swimming that were used for times and laps.

The most precise technology ever used in swimming and still in use today (Boston Globe 2013). This type of technology has impacted everyone in the world of sports. Including more and more technological advances that will determine the future of our society. Today's athletes receive comprehensive research and statistics from their lives as high-performance athletes. With better nutrition and the right training, they get stronger and perform faster. The athletes' equipment is getting better and better and the old records from back then are being broken.

Cycling, tennis and swimming are the top three areas where technology is advancing. Cycling includes lighter bicycles that are easier to negotiate on more difficult terrain in the mountains where professional cyclists compete. Swimmers use computer forensics and get better feedback on how they perform in the pool. Tennis is the most important aspect of technological advances, with the racquet or ball becoming lighter so that it moves at higher speeds. The average ATP tennis ball speed is over 120 mph (Bulchadani 2011).

This is a long way from the beginning with no research or technology to more entertaining to watch and play tennis at a higher level. (Bulcadani 2011) By the 1970s, bats were becoming obsolete and the baseball world wanted more action. It showed how technology was advancing and more people were becoming interested in baseball bat research. The aluminum baseball bat averaged faster than 3.85 miles per hour. The study was conducted with six highly skilled college baseball players. They managed to do more than a dozen punching drills.

Each individual hit five balls and changed rackets. The average ball speed for the lines was 56.6 mph. (Russell 2006) Each player accumulated 30 lines and the average line speed for the wood stick was 88.7 and the aluminum stick was 92.5 mph. (Russell 2006) The performance metric for each of these Tests showed there was a four mile per hour difference between the bats. A study conducted in 1989 using a stationary (no swing) test showed that wood and aluminum clubs were equal but had no effect on the speed at which the club hit the club (Russell 2006).

The results of these two studies show that metal bats outperform wooden bats. Despite the controversy, Major League Baseball has retained the wooden bats to maintain safety protocol. With injuries and players breaking records easily, they will protect the game for a long time (Russell 2006) (Crisco-Greenwald Batting Cage Study 2002). Sports technology shows that we are in a different world to the sports revolution, not only in professional athletes and coaches, but also in the technology used in equipment, facilities, evaluation and recording devices (Smith 2012).

New technologies include golf balls and clubs, soccer balls, shoes, racing cars and more. The technology also uses a different approach to training, tests that determine muscle fibers and the body's strengths and weaknesses, all displayed on a small computer screen. An athlete's diet is carefully scrutinized and yet the nature of the game is kept intact. Thanks to technology, more and more people can practice many sports like never before. Technology requires a lot of research and time.

Without sports technology, some sports might never have evolved, such as golf with evolving clubs and baseball with metal bat research. With the resources made available, we should be seeing more technological advances in this day and age. Sports technology has constantly improved, and knowing the differences between each sport and how it performs will guide the way it is studied. Advanced research technology is becoming a key part of the resources devoted to improving the sport.
